New Calculation Wizard: Matrix field doesn't reflect values assigned

The instructions say, "Define values to be used in calculations. Separate each column with a comma and each row with a new line. These values will not be shown on the form.Learn More"

    So I did this:

    1, 2, 3, 4

    1, 2, 3, 4

But when I try to do calculations on the values, every stays at 0.

I also tried with no spaces, with a comma at the end, and a couple other formatting variations.

I checked your form and the calculations is not configured properly that is why the result stays at 0. Please try these calculations:

Keep in mind that the result is hidden and you're the only one that can see it through submissions page or email notifications.

Also, check our full guide: How-to-Perform-Form-Calculation-in-the-Matrix-Field

Hope that helps. If you need further help, let us know. We'll be happy to assist you.

I have read the guide. I understand how to do the calculations.

My question was not about how to do the calculations, but how to format the data when I assign the calculation values. Spaces? Commas at the ends of the lines?

I followed the method in the guide, starting here:

How to set hidden values on each column on a radio input type.

You want to have each column to have it's own value, but you do not wish to display them to your users? That is possible by following the steps below with the knowledge we acquire on the earlier part of this guide.

I don't understand what you mean about the result being hidden and me only being able to see it through email notifications. I don't get email notifications. But when I follow the instructions and then view the data using "view submissions" or view the data in my integrated google sheet, the sum is still zero.

I did some testing and I was able to replicate this problem. Please allow me some time to investigate this further. I will get back to you through this thread.

    Thank you for your patience.

I have narrowed down the problem.

When I go to the form calculation wizard and cllick "add field", the fields that appear are different from the ones in the example.

In the example, the added fields look like this:

    Matrix Field_00-9 + Matrix Field_10-9 +

But when I add additional fields, they look like this:

    Matrix Field_0_00-9 Matrix Field_1_00-9

I checked this further with different variations, but calculations are not reflecting. I forwarded this issue to our backend team for further checking. And we will get back to you through this thread.

    Thank you!

    Hello @mitmuseum,

First of all, thank you for reporting the issue. It seems the issue is related to our new Calculation wizard. To solve that issue quickly, could you please use our old calculation widget by clicking the link below:

So, you can add the values correctly as you see below:

After that, you can clear your browser caches to go back to the new UI.

We have forwarded this to our developers to have it checked and fixed. Now, they are checking the problem. We will update you on this thread as soon as this has been fixed. Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience on this matter.
