When I try to use "short text" element, the letter "d" pre-populates the field on the client end.

The "number" element is not active on client end.

When I try to use "short text" element, the letter "d" pre-populates the field on the client end.

    Please see link below.

I apologize, but I could not understand the issue you are experiencing, I have checked your form, and there isn't any field called "number" where I could enter the letter "d". Could you explain better what you are talking about? We would appreciate if you could also share screenshots to illustrate what you mean: https://www.jotform.com/help/438-How-to-Post-Screenshots-to-Our-Support-Forum

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

I should have been more clear.

The issue is with the "Student ID No." field where I used the "number" element from the list of elements under "Add form element" when building a custom form.

As you should find, when you visit the link to the form on our site (above), that field shows the placeholder text, but is inactive.

I've tried several options to using the number element, including the "short text entry" element, but when I do, the letter "d" is pre-filled for some reason. I can type in the field which replaces the "d" but it continues to reappear when I clear the form.

Also, is there a "reset" button to clear the form and start over?

    Thanks!1511994291Capture Screenshot 10

Here is an animated image of your site(where the form is embedded) loading in my browser:

As you can see, each time it loads all fields including the "Students ID No(if applicable)" field are empty, there is no character prepopulated in that field. Please try clearing your forms cache, and try again.

On regards of adding a reset button to your form, that is available in your submit button settings:

    Thanks again for the reply.

That's correct...there is no "d" because I chose to use a different element -- the "number" element. However, the field won't take any data.

Are you able to enter data into the Students ID No(if applicable) field?

Yes I am able to enter data in it:

When I try to use short text element, the letter d pre populates the field on the client end. Image 10

However, you have put a minimum  and maximum value of 7, so only the value 7 can be entered.

You might want to disable it or change the range:
