I currently have a product that is free for 2 years, and subsequently pay on a yearly subscription fee. May I know is there a way to go about doing that?

You can set up your Payment Integration (i.e. PayPal) to Sell Subscriptions.
Create a product and set the Subscription Period to Yearly.
Set the Trial Period to 1 Year.
After that, setting the First Payment to 0 means that the subscription will be FREE for two years.
It will start to charge the user yearly after two years with the Price that you have set.Complete Guide: How to Setup a Recurring Payment Option

Hello,
Thank you for your reply.
Few qns:
1) Can first payment be lower than recurring payment? I remember I read somewhere about how it must be higher.
2) From what I understand, if I switch on the option of "Trial Period" for a year, and switch on the option of "First Payment" and set it 0, it will mean that the Trial Period cost $0.00 (aka the first payment is for the trial period)
^ Am I misunderstanding it?
Can I confirm that having a trial period of 1 year + first payment of 0 will entitle my customer to have 2 years of free subscription?

Just tried item number 2, and it doesn't work.
The first invoice was billed at $0.00, for the trial period of 1 year (till 2019), and the next invoice that is going to be billed in 2019 is at $1.00.
What I am looking for is $0.00 for the first 2 years (2018-2019 & 2019-2020), and then from 2020-2021 onward the customer will be billed $1 each year

I checked your last edited form, and I saw that you're using Stripe there. I'm afraid that you cannot set trial period for more than 1 year:
If that is what you're referring to?
And to clarify the trial period option, if you set 1 year, the first year will be charged $0 and then a user will be charged for the set price.
Let us know if you have any further questions.
Thank you!

Hello thank you for your reply.
So does that mean that there is no work around my product which includes a one-time promotional pricing FOR 2 YEARS, and then subsequently only billing them for 1 YEAR?

I'm afraid no, we don't have payment integration that has a trial period longer than 1 year.

Understand Nik, May I just ask is there any way that I can work around that? :)

If you use Stripe, you can create such subscription in Stripe and then fetch it to the form.
You can fetch the subscriptions by turning on the option in the Additional Gateway Settings. This is an example where the free period is set to 2 years (730 days) and then the user is charged monthly.

I have also made a feature request so that it is possible to set the trial period to longer than 1 year.
We will let you know when there is an update on this via this thread.

Thank you for making the feature request.
may I know for your workaround on stripe how can I create such subscription? The sample form that you provided is not working as well.
Thank you! :)

Here is how you can create a new Subscription on Stripe:
1) Select Subscriptions-Plans on the left-hand-side:
2) Click New on the right-hand-side:
3) The below window will open:
There, you set anything unique for ID, Name is what will appear as a product name in your form:
Set the amount, interval (that will start after trial period) and the Trial period equal to 2 years in days, which is roughly 730.
Here is my test form: https://form.jotform.com/80522151380951
Please check and let us know how it worked.
Thank you!

I am not sure if it has something to do with the account type that you have in Stripe. I suggest you contact Stripe Support about that.

Also, can you click the Products option and see if you can create the subscriptions there? It may be that they renamed it from Plans to Products for some accounts.

Hello. Thank you for all of your help.
According to them, they have changed their settings such that if you want to create subscription with trial period, you will have to work through their API, which is not an expertise my company has at the moment.
I guess until Jotform can provide the option of 2 years trial period, I will not be able to continue with my service offering.
Godspeed.
Thank you. :)

Any idea when will the feature be implemented? I am just thinking it shouldn't be that much of work to add an additional year under the trial period :/
Thank and hope to hear from you soon.
