All examples for multiple choice (checkbox) and dropdown work with predefined values. If control does not have values defined, I was not able to set them with my values via URL.
For checkbox or dropdown controls is it possible to define values via URL?
Can we do this with an external source such as a database?

The easiest way to prepopulate checkbox and dropdown values via URL is using the PrePopulate Fields app.
I've recorded an example video:

I've done this already. I'm not asking to select predefined checkbox/dropdown values via URL but rather define values for Dropdown or check box via URL. In other words, if checkbox does not have any values defined I want to pass them via URL. Is it possible?

It would not be possible to pass values to the checkbox or drop-down via URL without loading the page.
As I show on my previous reply, it is possible to generate a prepopulated link, you can also do interesting things like pass values from one form to another by arranging a prepopulated URL on the "Thank you" page:

I have the same doubt as uniqueaid. It would be interesting to create more options to drop-downs via URL or an external source, such a SQL database or so. Would that be possible?

Unfortunately, it's not possible to load data from a database or external source as you request. We can open a feature request for this if you want, although we cannot provide an ETA, we would keep you updated via this thread.
Let us know if you would like the feature request to be opened.

Hello Kevin_G, tks for your reply!
Sure I do, it would be very interesting to do that. I'll be at your disposal to test a beta version or give more ideas about this feature.
Basically, my idea is to create a system that dialogues with multiple forms answers, so we can empower my supplier network with online forms (!and less paper).

Thanks for the details, I have now forwarded this thread to our second level as feature request, please note that we cannot provide an ETA or ensure this feature will be worked, but we will keep you updated via this thread.
Also, in the meantime, you may develop your own code to pre-fill the data, you may get the form's source code to implement it, this guide will help you doing so: https://www.jotform.com/help/104-How-to-get-the-Full-Source-Code-of-your-Form
