Zoho Integration: un-required the "email" and "last name" fields from the Zoho-jotform integration

In Zoho, the "email" field is not a required field in our setup (intentionally). We are using a jotform form to update existing leads in Zoho - they always have an email address, so we don't want to ask the user for an email again. However, because from jotform's perspective this is a "new" lead, it is requiring an email address

From our perspective - we KNOW that this form is being filled out by a contact who already has a lead/email address in Zoho, so we don't want to re-ask the contact to submit an email. Is it possible to UN-require the email field? They always will have an email first.

Same deal with the "last name" and "company" fields. I know last name is a requirement in Zoho - but in our specific use case, we know that the lead we're updating ALWAYS has this info, so we never want to ask the user to re-input this information, it feels super tacky. Is there a back-end way to remove this requirement, so that we can simply update our existing Zoho lead without re-asking for these fields?

    Hi,

It's not possible to set a field to unrequired on the integration settings because it's pulling the information as is from Zoho itself. You can edit the fields' property on your Zoho account.

Let us know should you need further assistance.

No, that's not correct. "Email" is not a required field in Zoho, yet it is a required field mapping in the Jotform-->Zoho connection. See screenshot below, and note that "Email" doesn't have a red bar next to it because it's not required, and I have a "mandatory" option. Right now, it's set to not required, and yet Zoho still asks for it.

I see on this thread that Jotform was able to accomplish exactly what I'm looking to do! Can you replicate what you did for this user?

Sorry if my answer wasn't the best.

As you might have noticed, we didn't get an update from the user who initiated that thread you pointed out.

If you don't want to make the email required, you can turn off require on the form field properties.- Guide.- How-to-Set-a-Field-as-Required-or-Non-Required

These fields are required because the Zoho account/API requires them. There isn't an option on the integration app that lets you remove the "require " label on a field.

I can always raise this to our back end as a feature request, but we won't be able to provide an ETA.

I appreciate the response. However, I don't totally agree. As shown in my screenshot - the "email" field in Zoho is not required. Yet, in Jotform, it's shown as a required field. This shows me that it can't be Zoho "forcing" the requirement, at least not from the CRM level. It's not dependent on my selection of the the field being required or not.

I appreciate the offer to escalate. Naturally, I need to determine a solution sooner rather than later, and would prefer to simply not have the "required" option. But I'd still love for this feature to be offered even if it's down the road!

Thanks for all your help, it's appreciated.

Apologies for the confusion. You are right. It's JotForm's integration who forces the email field to be required.

I believe the reason for this is that "Email" is the most commonly used field to identify the person's existing record in your Zoho account, then the Last name to support it.

I just sent a Feature Request to our developers to un-require the said fields in Zoho Integration. Kindly note, however, that we cannot give you a timeline for implementation as it would rely on our developers' workloads and urgency of other requests. Rest assured you will be notified on this same ticket for updates.
