We have forms with required fields and are getting blank submissions. How is that possible?

Hi, thank you for contacting JotForm support.

Could you please tell us the form URL in question? Also, please provide us with the submission IDs of the submissions with blank submissions.

Could you also tell us if the form is embedded on a website? If so, kindly provide us with the site RL so we can check?

We look forward to your response.

    Hi peachpsychology,

Thank you for your patience. We have determined that given Submission IDs have been added as a new row manually in the Tables. It seems that the required fields have not been filled in these rows you added later. Users cannot submit the form without filling the required fields.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

I don't understand your response. The form has been the same with the required sections for months, we have not made that change recently. The rows all have varying IP addresses. We have individuals saying they have filled out the form but we don't see their responses, so this is our concern.

    Hi,

I have tested your form, but I could not submit it without filling out all the required fields.

The users might have been able to bypass the fields due to their browser's javascript is disabled/turned off. The required fields are checked using javascript, and as such, if they are disabled, then the user will be able to submit the form even if a required field is not filled.

In order to prevent the user from submitting the form, if their javascript is disabled, you can add the NoScript widget to your form. When this widget is added to the form, it will conditionally hide the entire form and display the message you defined when JavaScript is disabled in their browser.

Please give it a try and let us know if you receive a submission with the required fields empty.
