Monday and File Upload

Hi, I'm trying to integrate Jotform with Monday.com.

Everything is going well so far until I got to file upload.

What I want to do is, when someone uploads a file, it then places the files in the new item in Monday in the file column.

This is a vital part of the form.

To give you more of an idea of what I'm trying to achieve I'll explain. A sales person is sent the form to enter all the information of a customer. The information will include 3/4 PDF documents.

When the sales person submits the form I want a new item to be created in Monday with all the information entered in to the form (the easy bit) and the PDF documents that the sales person uploaded. This is where I'm stuck.

Does this makes sense? Do you have any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Scott

    Hi Scott,

    Thank you for contacting us.

    About File uploads:

As I know, you can map the Upload field from Jotform to Monday, but only the download link for attachments will be transferred to your Monday.

    About a PDF:

Unfortunately, it is not possible to send PDF documents to Monday directly.

As a workaround, you can try to use Zapier

    Zapier-Jotform to Monday

If you have any further questions - feel free to ask.

    Best regards.

    Thank you for your reply.

Can you tell me how I can map the upload field from Jotform to Monday? Having just the download link may be ok.

I've looked at Zapier as a workaround but I don't know where to start. Can you provide anymore info how I can set this up using Zapier?

    Thanks

    Scott

As long as you have an upload field in your Form, then it can be mapped to Monday.com.

Please note that only the download link would be added to Monday.com

Kindly give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Hi, I can't see anywhere where I can map the download link in to Monday?

I just asks me where the file is coming from e.g. OneDrive Local etc.

    am I missing something?

You may use the text field in Monday.com to get the file upload link.

Here is a screenshot of the upload link in Monday.com.

Hi, I feel like I'm being really stupid.

In your screenshot you have - {input6} which I'm assuming is from the field details in the form builder, however with file upload elements I don't have the field details section. Where do I get this from?

    Thanks

My apologies for the confusion, I am using the file upload field on my sample form.

You're correct, the {input6} is an upload field.

Please note that widgets cannot be mapped on Monday.com integration.

Let us know how it goes.

I am also using the file upload field, not a widget.

I've entered {input6} into a text field on Monday (see below) and they download link hasn't been populated in Monday when the form has been completed.

Is {input6} a generic code for file upload?

    Hello,

It is absolutely to be confused when using a new system or way to do things, that's why you shouldn't hesitate to ask any question.

    Those fields are unique. In your case, the right field name is {dealerOrder}

A little trick to find them easily is to create an email that you would delete afterward (so it doesn't get sent). It will allow you to see those unique fields in a very easy way: https://www.jotform.com/help/26-setting-up-an-autoresponder-email

    Hope this helps.

Do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need further assistance.

Hi, thank you very much for the help so far. However I've still not managed to get the download link to show in Monday.

See below the field name I'm entering in to the integration and the output on Monday:

Hi Scott! Kindly note that Monday's File column is not supported by JotForm integration.

What you can do is create a long text column on Monday with a name like "Uploaded fields links" and then on JotForm map the Upload field to Monday's "Uploaded fields links" column. This way, URLs of the uploaded files will be set for this field. I've tested this setup and it works. Following is the sscreencast of this setup:

    http://shots.jotform.com/patrick/Screencast%202021-02-16%2016-18-58.webm

Please give it a try; let us know if this doesn't solve your purpose.

    Thank you!
