    Can I simply just convert my date into Julian format so that I can just do a simple subtraction to find out how many days have passed? This is so complicated.

    Do you want to calculate the difference between two dates? Yes it possible by adding condition or "Form Calculation" widget in form. Please check the screenshot below on how to calculate date difference:
