Automatic population of content

    Hi

I was wondering if our clients who keep returning to our clinic have an option on their device to auto-populate data into the Jotform rather than having to keep filling out their details. If so is do we need to do anything to the form to assist this?

    Thanks

    RRC

    Hi RRC,

    Thank you for reaching out.

You'll need to set up the form to copy the data from the previous submission and prepopulate the fields with that data in the new submission. Please see our guide on this page for more information.

    Kind regards,

    Hi roserespclinic!

I understand that you want to make the filling out of forms as easy as possible for your clients.

To answer your question, yes, you can populate fields in your forms, especially if conditions are met by updating or calculating the field conditions of your forms. Check out this guide for a step-by-step procedure on how to do so: https://www.jotform.com/help/286-how-to-pass-field-value-to-another-field/

You also have another option to auto-populate information by taking advantage of the Spreadsheet Widget.

The Spreadsheet Widget will allow you to upload a spreadsheet to your form and pre-populate it with values from the spreadsheet. You can access a specific row of your spreadsheet by utilizing a unique code contained on each row that matches the unique code entered on the form. Consider it a database query with the Unique Code as the key index.

Please see this guide on How to Use the Spreadsheet to Form Widget: https://www.jotform.com/help/442-how-to-use-the-spreadsheet-to-form-widget/

Do let us know if you have any more questions and we will be happy to help.

    Hi

I think you misunderstood my questions.

I was wondering if clients are able to automatically populate data into the Jotform if they have been to our clinic previously - like a week ago. Does the app have features that allow a smart-phone to understand what is it asking and then pre-populate commonly asked data like name, DOB, phone number, today's date, medicare no etc.

    Regards

    RRC

    Hi again RRC,

Their devices' web browsers should be able to remember previous data entered if autofill is enabled. Unless of course they regularly clear their data, then they would have to manually fill the forms all the time.

    Does that answer your query?

    Kind regards,
