Those posts were made in 2015, which is why they are showing our old conditions interface. When it comes to outputting a date in one field based on date entered in a different field, I see that my colleague's form still works fine:
I also see that it is working, showing a date 7 days less than the original date, in your cloned version of my colleague's form:
Can you please let us know which of your forms you are trying to set up in such a way, and to which field you are trying to output the date, and we will be happy to help you in setting it up.
I've checked your form named Enquiry Application, and I see you are using the Form Calculation method, which is working fine. If you want to add or subtract days from the original date field, please also add your calculation, as depicted in the following image:
You can also send a date to another Date field by using conditional logic, with Insert rules:
You can see a result of both of these methods in the following form:
Field named Form Calculation is a calculation, and is set to be 3 days less than wedding date. Field named Conditionally calculated date is the one where date is conditionally inserted, and this one is set to be 7 days before the wedding date.
Let us know if you need further assistance, and we will be happy to help.
