I have a 385 word restriction set for the second field beneath the heading 'Article' on this form:

    https://form.jotform.com/43360630521949

I have tested the form, and if I try to submit text that exceeds that limit I am prevented from doing so.

However I have received a submission with text entered in that field that exceeds the limit by almost double.

Are you able to tell me how this might have occurred?

    Hello Jescom,

I'm sorry for the trouble caused to you.

I did check your form's submission page and was able to trace the submission with 742 word count. There could be only two reason where the validation will not trigger:

#1. The Javascript of the user's browser must have been disabled which will cause the validations to not trigger. To solve this issue, I would suggest you to please add "NoScript" widget in form which will prevent form submission if the Javascript is disabled.

#2. If you have embedded your form in any webpage, there could be some code conflict between form scripts and other scripts of your webpage. To solve this, I would suggest you to please embed your form using its iFrame embed code. The following guide should help you how to grab your form's iFrame embed code: https://www.jotform.com/help/148-Getting-the-Form-iFrame-Code

    Hope this helps.

Do get back to us if you have any questions.

    Thank you!
