How do I save and continue Forms later?

    Hello,

I have two questions about the possibility of updating form submissions....

First is there a way to set it up that when someone begins to complete a form that they could save their answers and come back to it at a later date to complete or update before submitting? Something like a save and return later feature? This would be useful for complicated submissions that require more thought and preparation.

And my second question...somewhat related...is there a way that once a form is submitted, the person who submitted it could go back and open their submission (only theirs) to add or change information? This would be useful in keeping submitted data current if it changes and needs to be updated.

Let me know if any of these scenarios are possible.

    Thanks,

    Tom

Yes, we have the save and continue later feature in the Forms.

Save input data in session: User can save the input data in the session that is stored in our server. Please be noted that this feature requires should have the "Page Break" field. The data is saved only on the click of the next button.

The following guide should help you:  http://www.jotform.com/help/97-How-to-Save-Forms-to-Continue-Later

You can allow users to return to edit their submission in an email autoresponder.  Here is our guide on how to do so:

    https://www.jotform.com/help/40-How-to-Let-Users-Update-Their-Form-Submissions-at-a-Later-Date

The emailed link will allow users to return to their specific submission at any time to update their data.  Once the submission is updated, it will be replaced with the new data, rather than creating a new submission.

    Hope this helps.

Do try it out and get back to us if you have any questions.

    Thanks.

    Great, Thanks...I have a follow-up question.

Let's say I have someone who fills out our personnel form and then a year later their address changes....can I then send them an edit link for them to make the change? How/where do I find/create that?

    Thanks,

    Tom

You can achieve this re-submitting the form with the updated Autoresponder Email.

    Steps:

    1. Update the Autoresponder Email content as needed.

    2. Go to the form Submission page

    3. Edit the submission(Edit mode) and Submit the form.

    4. The Autoresponder will be triggered and sent to the user.
