The Jotform process we use only compiles the data collected during field inspections. We need to be able to identify the actions raised, assign them as closed or open, assign them to a person to action further

As per my understanding, you need to further track data based on the data collected during the inspections. Is that correct?

Yes it is possible to achieve your requirement. Please add the other fields in form based on which you want to track the further actions. You can hide those fields and display then when the submission is edited after the data is first collected. The following guide should help you how to all users to edit their own submission data: https://www.jotform.com/help/40-how-to-let-users-update-their-form-submissions-at-a-later-date

You can also build approval based form with workflow where you can assign a task to another user. The following guide should help you: https://www.jotform.com/help/432-a-general-approach-on-building-an-approval-process-workflow

    Hope this helps.
