I need a unique ID number that is VISIBLE on the form

    How can I create a form with an automatic unique ID that is VISIBLE on the form, I.E for an invoice number or membership number that the recipient can see, or can I somehow unhide a Unique ID field which would be the simplest option I think.

    Sorry, maybe I wasn’t clear enough, I need the end user to see it. The unique ID is perfect but it is hidden from view, i need to have it visible on the form and not hidden.

    Hi there,

    I apologize for the confusion. If you want to make the Unique ID field visible, then it is not possible.

    That is because the value for the Unique ID is generated after the form was submitted. This is being done to avoid duplicate IDs if the Unique ID was generated on the actual form. This can also cause confusion if shown on the actual form because when multiple users view the form at the same time then they won't fully complete the form.

    As a workaround though, you can send the Unique ID to your users via email. You can include them in the Autoresponder email. Another option is to add the Unique ID on the Thank you page of your form, like so.

    One other option is just to use the Random Value Generator widget. Though this won't be a Unique value so I don't think this is a good fit for your issue.
