What’s working in EdTech? According to the educators we surveyed — 48 teachers, instructors, and professors spanning K–12 and higher education — the tools themselves are great. It’s their inability to work together that causes a problem.
Educators already lose nearly a day’s worth of time to manual tasks each week. Tools that require teachers to manually input data from one app into another don’t help.
You can find all of the results from our survey on technology in education in the report: EdTech Trends 2026: What’s Working, What’s Not, and Where AI Is Heading. We’ll also be highlighting the findings in a webinar on January 29. Register now.
Better integration and interoperability among tools
Nearly three out of four respondents (73 percent) to our survey said the lack of integration between systems causes them the most frustration. Half also said they’re juggling too many platforms at once.
These two responses go hand in hand. Educators find it difficult to get their work done because they have to use separate tools that don’t work well together. Rather than using disparate systems, they would prefer an all-in-one solution, or at least, one digital space where they can use their tools.
Specific comments from educators
Let’s drill down into some of the comments from our survey respondents and how Jotform addresses these issues.
The number one thing I would like for my digital tools to do is to talk to each other. I feel like often we have to be jumping from one platform to another just to get our work done.
Jotform provides exactly this functionality, in many different ways. First, you can take advantage of integrations with popular learning management systems like TalentLMS, LearnDash, LearnWorlds, Teachable, and EdApp, either through direct integrations with Jotform or third-party tools like Zapier.
It’s also easy to use Jotform within other platforms. For example, Jotform for Salesforce offers a Jotform workspace within Salesforce. And it’s easy to integrate Jotform with Google Workspace.
Jotform is designed to integrate with virtually any tech platform through the Jotform API. What’s more, Jotform webhooks can instantly send form submission notifications to a specific URL outside of Jotform.
I would like to see more integration between tools, I would also appreciate more single-sign on opportunities.
In addition to integrations with learning management systems, Jotform has native integrations with popular third-party cloud storage applications like Google Drive and Dropbox. These integrations provide automatic data transfer that improves data accuracy and saves time. Overall, Jotform has more than 100 native integrations.
Those on Jotform Enterprise plans can take advantage of single-sign on (SSO), which provides educators relief because they won’t need to remember different passwords for each service. SSO boosts security too. Fewer passwords mean fewer opportunities for bad actors to take advantage of.
It would be helpful if there were a central dashboard where I could access and manage everything in one place that would allow the different platforms and tools to interact with one another.
The Jotform Enterprise Admin Console gives admins a central dashboard to oversee every aspect of their Enterprise instance, including integrations. Instead of manually connecting forms to outside apps one by one, schools can manage all their integrations from a single, secure hub.
Administrators can easily add or update integrations and track usage. This visibility helps keep systems in sync and saves valuable time for both IT teams and educators. By bringing integration management under one roof, Jotform Enterprise turns a scattered tech stack into a unified system.
I would like for my tools to integrate with AI to make certain aspects of my responsibilities more efficient.
The use of AI in education is another topic covered in our EdTech Trends report. In fact, 65 percent of our survey respondents are already using AI as part of their jobs.
Jotform Enterprise offers AI Agents for a host of tasks, like answering FAQs from students and/or parents, collecting homework, and assisting with lesson planning. Plus, users can ask the new AI Assistant to create forms, workflows, and more without leaving their workspace.
Last but not least, Jotform Enterprise’s AI-generated brand kit creates a consistent brand based on the user’s website or logo — in seconds. Altogether, Jotform Enterprise offers AI that assists students, parents, faculty, and staff without the need for external tools.
The future of EdTech
Educators know what they need from technology — tools that work together seamlessly to simplify and automate their work. The results of our survey hint that the next wave of EdTech progress won’t come from adding more platforms but from creating stronger bridges between the ones teachers already rely on.
With solutions like Jotform Enterprise, that future is already within reach. Seamless integrations, easy and secure single sign-on, and built-in AI give educators the connected ecosystem they’ve been asking for. The result is more time to teach, which is why teachers got into education in the first place.
