IPN (Instant Payment Notification) is a POST message sent by PayPal (for regular merchant accounts) whenever a transaction is completed on their side. This message contains all the data regarding the payment transaction completed by a form user. IPN is crucial for your payment forms to work smoothly.

  • What are incomplete payments in Paypal?

Each submission on a PayPal-integrated form is initially considered an Incomplete Payment entry. Jotform uses the IPN message to determine whether a submission's payment is successful or not. If successful, the submission is marked as completed, the post-submission actions are then performed such as sending out the Notification and Autoresponder emails and sending the submission data to Webhook URLs (if there is any). If the payment is not successful, the submission remains Incomplete.

To automatically send a PayPal invoice when someone submits an order through your online form, you first need to connect your form with PayPal Invoicing. Visit our user guide to learn more about how to send a PayPal invoice with Jotform.

  • How do I set up PayPal Pay in 4?

Once you’ve finished building your online payment form, integrate it with our PayPal Business integration, and add your products and pricing. Once you’ve published the form by embedding it in your website or sharing it with a link, customers will be able to select the Pay in 4 option at checkout to pay in four easy installments.

  • How do customers pay with PayPal Pay in 4?

It’s as easy as 1-2-3! Once you’ve set up your PayPal Pay in 4 payment form, customers can pay by choosing PayPal at checkout, selecting Pay Later, and clicking the Pay in 4 option. From there, customers can complete their purchase by making the down payment. They’ll be able to pay the rest in three automatic payments — once every two weeks.

  • What “buy now, pay later” options does PayPal offer?

In addition to Pay in 4 — which lets customers pay for purchases in four interest-free installments — PayPal also offers PayPal Credit, a revolving line of credit that buyers can use to pay over time. Either option can help provide greater payment flexibility to customers, allowing them to buy what they want and pay for it in a time frame that works for them.
